Healing Fire Brings Community Together for World Mental Health D

On Wednesday, October 7, our community will gather for a World Mental Health Day Healing Fire from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Government Center Pow Wow Grounds, 483 Great Neck Road South in Mashpee.

The afternoon is meant to create space for connection, healing, and hope. Tribal members, families, friends, and neighbors are invited to come together for Mashpee Traditional Drummers, powerful testimonies, recovery tables, food and refreshments, and time in community around the Healing Fire.

Mental health touches our families in many different ways, and gatherings like this remind us that no one has to carry difficult moments alone. Making room to listen, share, support one another, and connect with resources helps strengthen our people and our community.

The event is open to the public and is sponsored by the Substance Use Disorder/Suicide Prevention/Tribal Opioid Response/Redefining Community Wellness Program.
