MWT Housing Department
Our Mission
The mission of the Mashpee Wampanoag Housing Department is to provide safe affordable housing to eligible tribal members, and other Native Americans who reside in the Tribe's service area. It is the Housing Department's mission to provide housing assistance and opportunities specific to the needs of the Native Americans living with The Wampanoag Community. The Housing Department will offer eligible members the choice to remain in existing housing or return to quality housing provided on ancestral lands; a place appointed to us by our Creator, and to encourage self determination and economic independence for all Native Americans.

Dear Tribal Members,
On an annual basis, the MWT Housing Department must publish the tribes Indian Housing Block Grant (IHBG) Annual Performance Report (APR) per the recommendation of the Eastern Woodlands Office of Native American Programs (E/WONAP). The IHBG funding is housings main grant that allows the tribe to provide housing assistance to eligible members of federally recognized tribes within our service areas of Barnstable County, Bristol County, Norfolk County, Plymouth County and Essex County.
The APR provides an explanation for what the housing department intended to accomplish under each program. In Section 5 of the APR, you will find a breakdown of funds. The first half of the breakdown under “IHP” is the budget that is allocated for that year. The second half of the breakdown under “APR” is the amount of funding spent on each service for that year.
Should you have any comments about the APR, please attend the Housing Commission meetings on April 3, 2025 and April 17, 2025 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the Mashpee Wampanoag Community and Government Center. There will be public comment at the start of each meeting where your voices will be heard. The APR will be submitted to HUD on April 18, 2025.

Housing Department
