The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, a Federally Recognized Tribe, through its Historic Preservation Office seeks specialized experienced contractors in Historic Restoration to provide restoration work on the Mashpee Wampanoag Museum. The museum historically known as the “Avant House” is listed on the National Register of historic properties. The Avant House was originally built approximately in 1793 by Sherjashub Bourne, great grandson to the missionary Richard Bourne. Contractor must continue to meet specifications as instructed by the Secretary of Interior for historic preservation. Contractor will be responsible for all licenses and permits. All bidders must submit a representation certification and non-collusive affidavit with bid; insurance certificate must be acceptable to the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe after notification of award; surety bonds must be listed on the US Treasury Circular 570. Bidders should include a description of planned work and break-down of specialized purchases
Work shall include siding, exterior trim, windows, decking and ramp, painting and the removal of and reuse of wooden gutters, removal and replace of upstairs ceiling and lighting, replace outside vents and check electrical connections. Contractor will also be responsible for hiring a pest /rodent contractor for prevention and removal of the same. A more detailed scope of work is available by telephone or email request. Application process: All bids must be in a sealed envelope with Museum Bid clearly identified on the package. Bids must include name, address, bid amount, non-collision statement and if not owner of company authorized representative certification. All bids must be received no later than 4:30pm on Monday May 27th, and maybe dropped off in person or sent certified mail with a mail date reflection Monday May 27th, 2024.
