Scam Alert from Mashpee Wampanoag Police Department

Recently an email has been sent out that is a scam/virus. 

The email is informing you a timely security report for your American Express card. They state they had a problem validating your profile. In view of this “Cardmember information need to be requested and your mandatory effort is required.” 

If you ever have questions about an email that appears to come from a financial/credit card institution, please call the card company to confirm if the email is valid. A reminder that you should always confirm emails and phone calls that want you to give personal and account information. Make sure to use the phone number on your card or go to the financial institution to confirm a request is legitimate. The email may also have a virus or ransomware and you should not open any links or files attached.
