Our Tribal community should have received a message today that Cedric Cromwell and David DeQuattro were held accountable for the damage they caused to our tribal community. Unfortunately, DeQuattro received one year of home confinement, and Cromwell remains free while he appeals his sentence of 36 months, followed by one year of supervised release and a $25,000 fine.

The sentencing hearing for Cedric Cromwell will be held on Tuesday, November 15, at 10:00 a.m. The hearing will be held at the U.S. District Court in Boston before Judge Woodlock.

Santuit Pond Cyanobacteria Advisory Notice
Unfortunately, we are once again posting a notice that the quality of the water in our ancestral homeland is not well. The town of Mashpee released a scum layer advisory for Santuit Pond as of 10/27/2022. Cyanobacteria cell counts are still below threshold. The Department of Natural Resources and the Board of Health will keep a close eye on cell counts and will update the advisory if needed.
Gaming Authority Releases RFP for Owner's Representative and Construction Management
In coordination with TERO, the Gaming Authority is advertising two RFPs - one is for Owner's Rep and a second for Construction Management.
The two RFPs continue our Tribe on a path of growth, progression, and opportunity while revitalizing the economic future for the City of Taunton in Southeastern Massachusetts, as well as our great state. These RFPs allow us to explore many different options for economic development on our sovereign land, including options for a casino. The Gaming Authority is assembling a team to explore our options and determine which will be best for the Tribe.
Yearly HUD Indian Housing Plan on October 6
The Mashpee Wampanoag Housing Department will seek community input regarding the 2022 HUD Indian Housing Plan (IHP) at the Commissioner’s Meeting on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at 6:00 PM. The meeting will be held in person at the Tribe’s Community and Government Center (483 Great Neck Road South) and over zoom.
