Career Pathways for Tribal Announce Spring Schedule

The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Education Department Career Pathways for Tribal Youth have organized a series of events to engage native students in fun, educational opportunities and college preparation. Programs include college tours, career fairs and camping trips.

The programs are funded in part by The NYCP Building Pathways for Tribal Youth grant.

Career and Trade School Fair on March 24
A career and trade school fair will be held on Tuesday, March 24 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Community and Government Center.

New York College Tours April 2 – April 5
From Thursday, April 2 through Sunday, April 5 students and parents can visit Seneca Nation, Syracuse University and Cornell University. Transportation will depart from the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Community and Government Center.

Montana and Washington State Native Colleges Tour April 19 – April 25
During April vacation students and parents can visit Montana and Washington State Native Colleges from April 19 through April 25. Transportation will depart from the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Community and Government Center.

Visit Bowdoin College and Canoe Trip
Students and parents can visit Bowdoin College in Maine and participate in the Upward Bound Native Student Program with a hiking and canoe trip. The trip will take place Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2. Transportation will depart from the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Community and Government Center.

College trip to Minnesota and Camping at Washburn Island in June
Dates have not been set, but Career Pathways for Tribal Youth is planning a college visit to the native colleges in Wisconsin and a camping trip to Washburn Island. Stay tuned for official dates.
