Chairman Weeden, who has served on the School Committee since 2021, continues to bring a strong commitment to youth, education, cultural awareness, and community service to his role. His appointment as Chairperson is a meaningful moment for the Tribe and the Town of Mashpee, continuing the long history of Mashpee Wampanoag leadership in local government and education.
“I am humbled and honored to serve as Chairperson of the Mashpee Public Schools Committee,” Chairman Weeden shared. “As a graduate of Mashpee Public Schools and as Chairman of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, I understand how important it is that our students feel supported, represented, and prepared for the future. I look forward to continuing the work of strengthening our schools, supporting our educators and families, and making sure every student has the opportunity to succeed.”
Chairman Weeden’s leadership on the School Committee reflects the importance of Tribal voices in decisions that affect Mashpee’s children and families.
