About JOM

The Johnson-O’Malley Act provides federal support for public school districts, Tribes, and Tribal organizations to help meet the specialized and unique educational needs of eligible Native students. In 2018, Congress updated the program through the JOM Supplemental Indian Education Program Modernization Act. In 2025, the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe applied for the first time under the updated Modernization Act.

More details and application instructions will be shared soon—please be on the lookout.
