Homeowners Assistance Fund Opened April 1 for Tribal Members

The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe’s Homeowners Assistance Fund (HAF) program is available again to help eligible Tribal members with housing-related costs. This assistance can provide a one-time payment of up to $2,000 toward mortgage, property taxes, or foreclosure-related expenses for enrolled Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal members living anywhere in the United States.

The program is available on a first come, first served basis and members may apply once every 12 months while funding remains available. The program opened on April 1 and is scheduled to continue through September 30, 2026, or until funds are exhausted. The assistance is paid directly toward eligible housing costs and cannot be paid directly to applicants.

Members applying should be ready to provide a current mortgage bill or tax bill, income verification for household members 18 and older, Social Security cards for all household members, and a Tribal ID or government ID. Additional documents may also be required. Community members who may qualify are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
