The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Elders Group would like to inform elders that the regularly scheduled Elders Meeting for Saturday, January 3 has been postponed in respect and remembrance of the recent passing of a Tribal elder.

The Elders Meeting has been rescheduled for Saturday, January 10, and will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

This rescheduled meeting will include:

An introduction of the new Elders Group officers, and
A discussion of the group’s two-year strategic plan, outlining goals and priorities for the years ahead.

A hot dog and bean luncheon will be served during the meeting.

Shellie Tobey, newly appointed Chairwoman of the Elders Group, expressed appreciation for the community’s understanding and looks forward to gathering elders together for meaningful conversation and planning.

Elders are encouraged to attend and participate as the group moves forward together with care, respect, and shared purpose.
