NLC Employment Opportunity

The Native Land Conservancy, Inc. (NLC) is a Native American-led land conservation nonprofit based in Mashpee Massachusetts. Presently there are four tribal groups represented on our Board of Directors. We protect and restore land for all living things wherever possible. Through land rescue and other programs, we perpetuate indigenous cultural lifeways. The NLC is a national organization which currently holds title to 64 acres, protects 811 acres through conservation restrictions, and stewards cultural respect easements on 440 acres. 

The Administrative Assistant is a new position that will support NLC staff and programs. This position is well-suited for someone who communicates effectively, is detail-oriented, enjoys managing both short- and long-term projects, and has a desire to meaningfully contribute towards improving Indigenous-led conservation locally and beyond. 

Position responsibilities: 

·       Greet and receive visitors

·       Digital and physical recordkeeping

·       Maintain membership database

·       Update website with event information

·       Assist with travel planning as needed

·       Assist with technology issues as they arise

·       Support Native American summer fellowship program

·       Oversee office supplies and maintenance

·       Assist with planning of Board meetings, organizational retreats, social activities, partner or funder events

·       Assist with special projects as needed

The successful candidate will be able to prioritize and multi-task effectively, have an eagerness to collaborate, respect for diverse perspectives, will be reliable, and have basic skills in Microsoft Excel.

The Administrative Assistant will be supervised by the Executive Director. Full-time (35 hours) candidates preferred, with part-time (20 hours) considered. $22–$27/hour. Competitive benefits offered for full-time employees.
