The STEEP research project and the Mashpee Wampanoag Natural Resources Department invite Tribal members to participate in a community Talking Circle focused on PFAS, also known as forever chemicals.

Participants will learn what PFAS are and where they have been found in the Mashpee community. The gathering will also create space for Tribal members to help identify the best ways to share future PFAS information with the community.

The PFAS Talking Circle will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Mashpee Wampanoag Government Center Gymnasium.

The Talking Circle is open to Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal members ages 18 and older. Lunch will be provided, and each participant will receive a $100 Amazon e-gift card. The research has been approved by the University of Rhode Island Institutional Review Board.
