Weetumuw School Invites Families to 2026 Fall Social

Weetumuw School continues to make space for Wôpanâak language learning across generations, including a partnership with Mashpee Middle-High School that gives students another way to carry our language into their education.

Through an independent-study option, high school students can use Wampanoag language study to meet their graduation language requirement. The school reports that one student is currently enrolled. It is a small but meaningful step in giving our young people more opportunities to learn a language that belongs here, in the community where they are growing up.

Families will also have a chance to come together at the Weetumuw School Fall Social on Friday, November 6, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Mashpee Wampanoag Community and Government Center, 483 Great Neck Road South.

The evening will include singing and dancing, a potluck, door prizes, giveaways and plenty of time to visit with one another. Everyone is encouraged to come share some food, support our children and enjoy an evening together.
