Mashpee Parsonage Request For Proposals

Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe’s Historic Preservation Office is collaborating with the Mashpee Old Indian Meeting House Authority Inc. a registered non-profit; to preserve the Mashpee Parsonage (431 Main Street, Mashpee, MA).   

The MWT THPO recognizes the unique character as well as the historical significance of the Parsonage and is committed to preserving the historic structure for future generations to appreciate. Toward that end, the THPO requires a Historic Structure Report: Current Condition Assessment, Architectural Master Plans and a determination on a specific Plans of Action. Deliverables will assist in securing additional Capital Improvement Funding, influence the developing Rehabilitation/ Restoration efforts and specify long term long term maintenance plans relative to safeguarding the historic building as close to the original construct as possible. The THPO hopes that the final HSR will be used as a model for the preservation of other historic structure(s) in the town of Mashpee and surrounding Cape Cod region.

Bids will be received in the Tribal Historic Preservation Office, Community and Government Center, 483 Great Neck Rd, Mashpee MA Until 3:00pm Eastern Standard Time November 30th, 2019

Procurement Schedule

The projected schedule for selecting a consultant for this project is:

  • Issue Request For Proposal (RFP) to selected firms: October 30th, 2019

  • RFP Proposals due at MWT THPO: November 30, 2019

  • Review of RFP Proposals: December 6th 2019

  • Optional Interview of Finalists: December 6th, 2019

  • Selection of Consultant: December 16th, 2019

This project will be carried out by project personnel who meet the NPS Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualifications Standards (as published in the Federal Register of September 29, 1983). This project will follow Preservation Brief 43, The Preparation and Use of Historic Structure Reports (HSR).

This project is made possible by the Mass Development/ Mass Cultural Council “Massachusetts Cultural Facilities Fund” and State/Town Community Preservation Funds as part of the Historic Preservation Criteria set forth in the Community Preservation Act.
