Wunee Keesuq Tribal Family,
On Monday, October 20th the Mashpee Town Meeting will have an article on the warrant that will impact the future of our community’s clean water. I’m asking each of you to show up and vote yes to approve this article, Article 4.
This vote is about protecting our families, honoring our ancestors, and safeguarding the waters that help define who we are as Wampanoag people.
Why it matters:
Help to ensure clean, safe water for our homes and future generations here in Mashpee
Increase the health of ponds, shellfish, and ecosystems for all Mashpee residents
Respect for our sacred waters and the responsibility we hold as their stewards
Showing up in person and casting our ballots is an act of sovereignty that shows we are invested, we are watching, and we will continue to protect this land that we have called home since time immemorial.
Here’s what to do:
Attend the Town Meeting at 7:00 PM on October 20
Vote YES on the clean water Article 4
Bring your family and neighbors — every voice counts
Let’s stand together to protect the water that sustains us all.
Ahâpây,
Chairman Weeden
