Governor of Massachusetts Issues Emergency Order: Essential Tribal Operations Continue to Provide Service

Today, Governor Charlie Baker issued an emergency order requiring all businesses and organizations that do not provide Coronavirus essential services to close their physical workplaces to workers, customers and the public. This step has been taken to slow the spread of the novel Coronavirus. The closure will start tomorrow Tuesday, March 24 and continue until Tuesday, April 7 at noon.

The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe shares Governor Bakers commitment to stemming the spread of the virus while maintaining essential services to tribal families. Access to healthcare and food is essential to the Tribal Nation and the Tribe will continue to provide safe access.

Services that Remain Open at the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Community and Government Center include the following:

  • Food Pantry - (regular hours)

  • Indian Health Services - (call 508-539-2561 prior to appointment or walk in)

  • Elder Services Lunch and Learn – Food Delivery Services on Tuesday and Thursday

Departments remain accessible remotely by email and phone as well. All department desk phones are now being forwarded to cell phones to allow safe work from home.
