Are you interested in a career in the offshore wind industry?
With the offshore wind industry just kicking off in the US and the first commercial scale offshore wind farm to be built 14 miles off the coast of the Vineyard, a multitude of job opportunities, created here locally on the Cape, the South Coast and Martha’s Vineyard, are just around the corner.
Wondering about the training needed and how the skills you have or what services your business offers might intersect with the opportunities in this new-to-the-US industry? Some examples of the skills that are needed (but not limited to) are: construction, electrical, heavy lift operations, maritime experience, vessel operations, marine mammals and fisheries, welding and metal fabrication. There will be short-term construction work as well as opportunities for long-term employment.
If you would like to know more about being a part of this exciting opportunity, Megan Amsler from Self-Reliance in North Falmouth is interested in talking with you. She is looking to speak with anyone-from high school kids to adults. She can be reached at megan@reliance.org or at 508-265-0478.
