Open Spaces for Sacred Parenting Workshops

Sacred Parenting Workshops have been ongoing since 2020 and will continue throughout this upcoming year. One of the main underlying goals of these workshops is to revive traditional parenting practices for the well-being of future generations by embarking on a journey of personal healing.

One of the ways this is done is through the use of a traditional tool kit, which parents/guardians are given as they are shown how to use it when spending quality time with our children. Calming techniques are also taught for those times when guardians can become frustrated in certain family situations.

The next round of classes are open to Native American Parents, Grandparents, Relatives, Foster Parents, Guardians and Non-Tribal adults who are caretakers of Native American children. The Sacred Parenting Class is an eight-week class, and participants receive a $40 stipend for each class attended. A certificate of completion is awarded at the end of the session if you complete all necessary classes.

The Sacred Parenting Class is funded by UMASS/Boston and facilitated by a Licensed Therapist who is Native American. It is also accepted by the state as a certified parenting class for those who are in need of this type of class.
