The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe's Historic Preservation Department (THPD) is seeking interested individuals for its 2025 Tribal Cultural Resource Monitor (TCRM) seasonal training program.
Each year, THPD contracts trained TCRMs to assist with archaeological fieldwork and cultural resource protection during construction and environmental projects within our homelands. These monitors serve an essential role—observing ground-disturbing activities, identifying culturally significant features or objects, and ensuring that Tribal protocols are upheld on site.
We are currently recruiting new participants to undergo TCRM training for this 2025 season. After successfully completing the training, individuals will be eligible for contract assignments on upcoming projects where archaeological monitoring is required.
Qualifications:
Must have a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation
Must be in good physical health and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Must be willing to undergo a CORI background check and drug test
Must be respectful of and committed to the protection of Wampanoag cultural resources and knowledge
THPD practices Native American Preference and fully complies with MWT T.E.R.O. (Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance) laws.
If you are interested in protecting our heritage and learning fieldwork techniques from experienced monitors, please email THPD@mwtribe-nsn.gov to express interest or request more information.
