The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Historic Preservation Department (THPD) is pleased to announce an upcoming Tribal Cultural Resource Monitor (TCRM) Field School Training opportunity this June. This training is designed to build internal capacity and provide hands-on experience in archaeological field methods, cultural site identification, monitoring protocols, lab processing of finds, post processing collected items, GIS data collection and site surveying.
This training will take place over 3 weeks starting Monday June 16th, 2025 and concludeing June 3rd 2025. Participants will work alongside professional archaeologists, GIS Professionals, Civil Engineering professionals and THPD staff during an active archaeological investigation on Tribal trust lands.
This is a paid training opportunity for upto 10 Tribal members, for those completing the full training a stipend of $1 0000 will be paid to Tribal members interested in cultural preservation, archaeology, GIS, civil engineering or environmental stewardship.
