Congratulations to 2025 Archaeological Field School Participants!

The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Historic Preservation Department proudly congratulates the participants who completed the 2025 Tribal Archaeological Field School Training and GIS Data Collection Training. David Pocknett Jr. and Cheenulka Pocknett successfully completed both trainings and received certificates of completion for their hard work and dedication.

We also commend Annawon Weeden Jr., Kta’n Paul, and Nakia Hendricks Jr. for earning their GIS Data Collection certificates. Over the course of the program, participants gained hands-on experience in archaeological field testing methods, cultural site monitoring, artifact handling and post-processing, as well as GIS mapping and site surveying techniques. Their commitment strengthens our Tribe’s capacity to protect and preserve Wampanoag cultural heritage. We want to thank them for their participation in the 2025 Archaeological Field School.

We would also like to thank Public Archaeological Laboratory Inc., the Horsley-Whitten Group and Wind Environmental Services, LLC for their support and participation in the 2025 Field School Training Opportunity
