The Office for Victims of Crime is organizing an Orange Shirt Day event on Saturday, September 30th at the Mashpee Rotary from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Orange Shirt Day (aka National Day for Truth & Reconciliation), is a day to honor the 150,000 plus victims of American Indian Boarding Schools.
A social will follow at the Community and Government Center from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM. During the social, a poster contest will be held. If you would like to participate, the OVC will be providing free poster materials from September 25th – September 29th in the lobby of the Community and Government Center.
The OVC is looking for four volunteers who are willing to assist the set up and clean-up of the social. They are also asking for orange shirt pack donations to be able to give them out to the youth for the event.
