Tribal Youth Advocate Across Turtle Island

Wampanoag youth who make up the Native Environmental Ambassadors (NEA) represented Mashpee and advocated for climate justice last month in both New York and California. The youth began by attending the United Nations Climate Week in New York City, where they participated in the March to End Fossil Fuels. They then flew to Palm Springs, California, to attend the Intertribal Rights of Nature Gathering. There, the NEA presented on their work advocating for the rights of nature movement and were able to share traditional eastern woodlands social songs.
