Chairman Weeden has submitted an independent citizens petition to acquire 1.63 acres of land next to the Old Indian Meeting House to expand our cemetery grounds.
This expansion is much needed as we continue to utilize this space as the final resting place for our loved ones and ancestors.
For the Mashpee Select Board to have the ability to transfer this land parcel into tribal ownership, the article first needs to be passed by a 2/3 majority vote in the upcoming October town meeting.
All tribal members are strongly encouraged to attend town meeting to ensure this article, Article 10, passes.
