During the second to last week of August, the Emergency Management Department began its Red Cross - First Aid, CPR and AED training program for tribal employees and interns. This was the first of trainings from the department to resume since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The department plans to provide these trainings to MWT employees on a monthly basis. Once the employees are trained and certified then the trainings will also be offered to the community at no cost. Emergency Management Director Nelson Andrews Jr and Emergency Management Assistant Allyssa Hathaway are both certified instructors for this course through the Red Cross and have the necessary training supplies and equipment.
