Under the 477 Rise Together Program, federal funding from approved departments is received and amalgamated, channeling the myriad federal program funds into a singular, comprehensive 477 Fund and plan.

US Supreme Court Upholds Tribal Lands

Today we celebrate a legal and moral victory that brings to our Tribe justice that has been very long overdue.  The United States Supreme Court announced that it would not hear the appeal requested by a small group of Taunton residents who have challenged our right to our Reservation for nearly a decade.  With this final legal victory, we secure the future for the generations who come after us, and we honor our ancestors who continued the fight to have ancestral land returned to us.  With this victory, we will be able to fully exercise our sovereignty to provide for our people and to preserve our culture and traditions.

Annual Holiday Gift Card and Toy Pick-Up ...

The Annual Holiday Gift Card and Parent Toy Pick-up opens on Saturday, December 16, with Stop & Shop gift card pick-up from 9:00 AM to Noon at the Tribe’s Community and Government Center. Starting at 1:00 PM and continuing through 6:00 PM, tribal citizens may pick up both toys and a Stop & Shop gift card. The annual event will continue on Sunday, December 17, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, when parents may continue to pick up both toys and a Stop & Shop gift card.

Tribe Wins Land Suit: Message from Chairman Brian Weeden

Over 40 years ago, our Tribe began the process of securing a small fraction of our ancestral homeland in Southeastern Massachusetts. Today, I am honored to inform the community that federal district court Judge Angela Kelley confirmed what we have all known to be accurate, that the land now held in trust by the federal government is the ancestral homeland of the Mashpee Wampanoag.

I just wanted to take a moment to wish all of the Tribal Families a safe and Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year. We realize that as the Tribe moves forward, we are making progress, but we must do so much more. Making life better for you is a huge task, and that’s what we were elected to do. The goal is to provide you with the services you need and an economic development plan that gets us there. Tribal members and this administration are committed to that plan.
