Pursuant to 2024-ORD-001 Code of Ethics Ordinance, Chapter 2. Ethics Commission; Section 1. Establishment of the Ethics Commission; (a) Within six (6) months of passing the ordinance, the Tribal Council shall establish the Ethics Commission, an agency of the Tribe, that is empowered to effectively and fairly enforce the laws it administers.
The Tribal body has been charged with establishing the Ethics Commission. It is our responsibility and duty as members to appoint Commissioners to the Ethics Board. We are hereby providing the appointment process and schedule to ensure the Commission is established prior to Sunday, December 8, 2024 deadline to remain in compliance with the Ethics Ordinance. Letters of interest should be submitted to Secretary Cassie Jackson no later than Thursday, October 10, 2024.
The appointment order schedule is as follows:
(1) Tribal Elders appointment of TWO Commissioners will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024 between the hours of 11:00a.m. and 1:00p.m.
(2) General Body appointment of THREE Commissioners will be held Sunday, November 10, 2024 between the hours of 2:00p.m.- 4:00p.m
(3) Tribal Council Appointment of TWO Commissioners will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2024 between the hours of 5:30p.m.-8:30p.m.
(4) Once all appointments are met, Letters of interest and reasons to be elected to the Commission will be submitted to the Tribal Council and General Body at least 30 days PRIOR to the election on December 8, 2024.
