This screening is being held specifically for Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal youth and families and will include pizza and discussion.

The community is invited to learn more about the Mashpee Nine and the fight to protect the Wampanoag right to beat the drum. Two upcoming screenings will share the story of the 1976 law enforcement raid on Tribal drummers at Mashpee Pond and the lasting significance of this moment in Wampanoag cultural justice.

Chief Earl Mills Jr. and others will speak about the Mashpee Nine and the events that took place 50 years ago. Students who attend will receive a complimentary Mashpee Nine book and T-shirt.
