Tribal Member Joseph Green was recently promoted from Sergeant to Lieutenant with the Barnstable Police Department.

Lt. Green is a lifelong resident of Cape Cod who resides in the Town of Barnstable and has been a sworn member of the Barnstable Police Department since 2012.

Before his time with the department, he served in the United States Marine Corps. In 2017 Lt. Green obtained a Master’s Degree from Curry College in Criminal Justice. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2019, where he served as a dayshift patrol supervisor and Mountain Bike Unit Supervisor for almost two years.

Lt. Green is currently assigned as the Prosecution Unit Supervisor, where he has been since the fall of 2021. Lt. Green is also a member of the Department’s Marine Unit and was formerly a Field Training Officer. Lt. Green is a member of the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council SWAT team and the CCRLEC SWAT Maritime Response Unit.
