The Text Illness Monitoring (TIMS) is a mobile texting tool used to monitor signs and symptoms of COVID-19 among persons who have been exposed to COVID-19, and as a tool for community monitoring of potential cases. As the numbers climb and turnaround time for test results has increased, enrollment is strongly encouraged in preventing the spread of the virus.
To enroll in the TIMS2 system, participants can type the number 877-462-9617. Next, type “join” in the text message box on their cell phone. This will be followed by a request to enter your name.
The participant will receive confirmation that they have been enrolled in the TIMS2 system.
Once enrolled, the participant will receive a daily message asking if they have symptoms related to COVID-19.
If the response is “no”, no further action will be taken.
If the response is “yes”, the participant will be contacted by the service unit or asked to call the answering service if it is outside of regular clinic hours.
To discontinue enrollment in TIMS2, the participant can type in “opt out”.
