The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe’s Education community is continuing to uplift and support young Tribal girls through Daughters of Tradition, an after-school program focused on sharing traditional knowledge and helping prepare daughters to grow into healthy, confident teens.
Daughters of Tradition is open to Tribal girls in grades 3–6 and meets twice each week:
Wednesdays at Quashnet School (Indian Education Room)
Thursdays at the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Education Office
The program offers teachings and activities that help strengthen identity and cultural connection. Topics include:
Spirit and Intent
Talking Circle
Traditional Values
Sustaining Culture
This season, participants have been working with their hands and learning through practice—weaving sweetgrass braids and finger weaving small belts, building both skill and patience while spending time together in a supportive space.
