Last year UK’s largest regional producing theatre, Theatre Royal Plymouth, along with the Wampanoag Advisory Committee headed by Linda Coombs and Kitty Hendricks, brought the concept of a major production to explore and acknowledge the strength and power of the Wampanoag Nation. Since then community sessions have been held in the US and the UK and the result is a script that has been completed and rehearsal dates that have been set. This is a major step forward in a piece of art that will better inform the world in the history of the Wampanaog Nation.
The Wampanoag scenes that are in the new script are almost entirely made up of what various tribal members said during the community workshops. The scripts are still a work in a progress and may be adjusted during the next round of community workshops, which will include a script read out. The community workshop schedule is below. There are a variety of dates and times to accommodate your schedule in hopes as many interested tribal members as possible will find a day and time to attend.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW:
Sessions will be more practical – please come in comfortable clothes and footwear
We have limited time with you, so please arrive to the sessions on time where possible
We will be there at least 15 minutes before each session is due to start, so please feel free to join us for a chat before we get started
During this trip will be confirming who is able to commit to being in the show and travelling to the UK in June 2020
Following this trip we will begin the process of arranging passports for those who require one
If you would like to commit to being in the show, the expectation is that you will be able to attend as many of the rehearsals in the lead up to travelling to the UK as possible (these will mainly take place on weekends and weekday evenings). If you cannot commit to being in the UK for the full length of time outlined above, please do get in touch and we will see what we can work out to ensure your involvement where possible.
