The Election Committee conducted a recount of the July 11 Special Election on Friday, July 16; confirming Nelson Andrews, Jr. election to tribal council. Nelson and David Pocknett, Sr. were separated by just 1 vote. The recount on July 16 confirmed the vote count on July 11.

All candidates were invited to observe the recount. In addition, David and Nelson were allowed to invite one witness to observe the process.
