On March 19 the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe activated the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at the Tribe’s Community and Government Center. Emergency Management, FEMA, the Tribal Chairman and essential personnel are able to coordinate health and safety measures from the central location.
The EOC allows the highly trained experts to monitor the information in real time being delivered by federal and state officials and make immediate decisions on how to react. It also has allowed for immediate distribution of important guidelines and information on the pandemic to the community through the Tribe’s website, social media phone and email.
