This Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) and Sensor Systems Program is open to tribal youth in grades 7-11 who want to learn about combining sensor technology with TEK to better understand the environment around us!
You’ll learn to build your own sensors to explore the environment using Arduino microcontrollers, tiny computers that can measure things like light or temperature. Whether you want to track bird songs or study how your surroundings change over time, this program celebrates the power of Native knowledge and sensor engineering to create a better future.
This is a FREE 8-week program taking place on Thursdays from March 13th - May 8th from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Community and Government Center. For more information, please contact Kitty Hendricks at gertrude.hendricks@mwtribe-nsn.gov.
