MaDarrius Burgo and Xavier Hendricks completed internships with the Cape Cod National Seashore this summer through the American Conservation Experience (ACE). ACE is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing rewarding environmental service opportunities for young adults and emerging professionals of all backgrounds to explore and improve public lands while gaining practical professional experience.
Both MaDarrius and Xavier presented interpretive programs to the public, researched water quality and species composition of ponds and estuaries, presented educational programs to local recreation departments, libraries, and tribal summer camps about horseshoe crabs, assisted with kayak trips, assisted at the Center for Coastal Studies with research and public education, and performed trail and vista maintenance.
Congratulations to MaDarrius and Xavier for completing their internship program! If you would like to begin an internship program, please reach out to John Hanlon at john.hanlon@mwtribe-nsn.gov for more details on possible opportunities.
