Public Forum - Property Tax Exemption

Mashpee is one of five Cape towns that have a property tax exemption for year-round residents. The residential exemption program allows cities and towns to grant a discount from 5 percent to 35 percent of the assessed value of a residential property, if it is your primary residence.

The public forum aims to give Mashpee homeowners an opportunity to learn how the tax exemption program works, how it affects town finances, and to ask questions.

Mashpee's discount rate is now 5 percent. The Barnstable rate is 25 percent; Provincetown is 35 percent; Truro and Wellfleet are 30 percent.
