The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day, serves as a reminder of the traumatic experiences faced by Indigenous children who were placed in residential boarding schools in an attempt to strip them of their cultural identity.
Every year on September 30th we wear orange in honor of both the residential school survivors, and the children who never made it home.
