Calling all Future Tribal Environmental Scientists!

Native youth entering grades 5-8, who are interested in learning about the environment that sustains us all, and the traditional scientific knowledge that is within us all, are invited to attend Preserving Our Homelands Camp 2024!

Rumble on the Rez

The annual Rumble on the Rez event will take place on Saturday, August 3rd from 12:00 PM - 5:00PM on Powwow Grounds. Rumble on the Rez aims to raise awareness about the battle against substance abuse and provide resources to support those in need.

13 Moons Exhibit Opens at Quashnet School

The Mashpee community celebrated the opening of a traditional exhibit in the Quashnet School courtyard called “13 Moons” in May. The exhibit featuring a wetu, a garden, and educational panels was the culmination of two years of work by students at the school and staff of the tribe’s education department under the direction of Cultural and Outreach Coordinator Darius Coombs.

Open Seat on Enrollment Committee

The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe currently has an open seat on its Enrollment Committee. One of the most important responsibilities of the Enrollment Committee is to review enrollment applications. Please visit the Tribal website at https://mashpeewampanoagtribe-nsn.gov/enrollment to review the Enrollment Ordinance.

Health Insurance Enrollment Support

The tribe has teamed up with the Community Action Committee of Cape Cod and Islands to do a Health Insurance Enrollment at the Community and Government Center once a month. There will be trained navigators to assist tribal members in one-on-one meetings with applying, shopping and enrolling in a health insurance program.

Limited Entries for Falmouth Road Race

Official registration for the Sunday, August 18 race has closed however a limited number of entries are available to Mashpee Wampanoag tribal members. Runners will be responsible for paying a $117 registration fee or seeking sponsorship. Anyone interested in running on the Wampanoag Road Runner roster must register no later than June 10.
