Native American Thanks Giving Celebration

This year’s annual Native American Thanks Giving celebration was a time for reflection, togetherness, and gratitude. The service was hosted by the Old Indian Meeting House Committee at the Old Indian Museum, and welcomed tribal members and members from the greater community.

The event highlighted both traditional spirituality and Christianity with prayers led by both Medicine Man Guy Cash, and Deacon Wayne Jackson.

Songs were shared by Chairman Brian Weeden, and the Eastern Cedar Singers. The Elders also shared a prayer in Wampanoag.

Following the service was a large feast at the Community and Government Center.

Thank you to the Old Indian Meetinghouse Committee for continuing to put on this special event year after year. We would like to formally acknowledge all of the committee members who contributed:

  • Evelyn Peters Fermino - Chairperson

  • Pauline Peters

  • Anita Peters

  • Gail Hendricks-Hill

  • Shirlee Oakley

  • Jermaine Peters

  • Joanne Peters

  • Putnam Peters

  • Jeanne Peters

  • Roxanne Brown - Liaison

We look forward to next year’s celebration!
