Last month, Chairman Weeden was appointed the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) Tribal Advisory Committee (TAC), also referred to as ACF TAC. He was appointed to serve as to serve as the Primary Delegate for the National At Large Members.
The ongoing purpose of ACF TAC is to strengthen the government-to-government relationship, provide advice on opportunities for ensuring that ACF programs benefit American Indians and Alaska Natives, and embrace feedback on ACF's diverse array of grant programs and contracts to expand, enhance, or improve the quality, availability, and range of services for children, youth, and their families. As such, it is important to achieve a balance of representation on ACF TAC of tribal leaders with experience or interest in economic development, independence and self-sufficiency, Native American languages, Indian child welfare, domestic violence, human trafficking, child support enforcement, Head Start, child care, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, and other ACF program areas of interest to tribal nations. Congratulations Chairman Weeden!
