The 14th annual Native American Thanks Giving, honoring our newest generation of children, will take place at the Old Indian Meeting House on Saturday, November 18th. Tribal citizens along with family and friends from the community are invited to attend.
The annual event, coordinated by the OIMH Committee, will open at 11:00 AM with an opening ceremony and prayer. Families are invited to introduce the youngest children in their families to be celebrated by all.
The Old Indian Meetinghouse is a sacred place for our community. Photos featuring generations through the years are greatly treasured. This year’s Thanks Giving is an opportunity to bring together our youngest for a photo that can be celebrated for many generations to come.
Following the ceremony, there will be a Native American Thanks Giving feast at the Community and Government Center.
Regalia’s will be presented to children ages 5 and under during the celebration. Families that will be introducing a child who would like to receive a regalia are encouraged to join craft night with Mother Bear. Craft nights are held every Thursday from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the NLC located at 2B Center St.
