Domingo "Mingo" Tiexeira and Nelson Andrews, Jr. Elected to Council
At the Tribe’s Special Election on July 11, Domingo "Mingo" Tiexeira and Nelson Andrews, Jr. were elected to council. Tiexeira and Andrews will fill the seats that were vacated when Brian Weeden and Carlton Hendricks were elected to Chair and Vice Chair earlier this year. 276 tribal members cast a ballot in the election.

Election Notice to All Enrolled Tribal Members
The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Election Committee extends notice to all Enrolled Tribal Members that the special election for two Tribal Council seats will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2021 (the "Election Day"). Enrolled Tribal Members who will turn 18 years of age on or before Election Day are eligible to vote in the special election. If you are not a registered voter, then you are required to complete a Voter Registration Form in order to vote at the special election.
A list of currently registered voters is posted at the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Community & Government Center."
The Voter Registration Form can be obtained at the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Community & Government Center, located at 483 Great Neck Road South, Mashpee, MA 02649 during regular business hours. All enrolled and eligible Tribal members are allowed to register on or before the Election Day.
The results of the Election will be posted at: 1) the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Community & Government Center, 483 Great Neck Road South, Mashpee, MA 02649; and 2) on the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe official website on Sunday, July 11, 2021.
The Tribal Election will be held for the seats of two Tribal Council Members.

Registered voters are required to provide a federal, state, or Mashpee Tribal government-issued photo identification card to vote. Masks must be worn for those who have NOT been vaccinated.
