Little Miss Wampanoag
My name is Sophia Madeline Cushing/Pocknett my spirit name is red girl, my clan is the eagle clan. I'm from the Pocknett and Hendricks family. I wanted to be princess because I've always looked up to my older cousins that were princesses, and I wanted my little cousins and sisters to look up to me like I looked up to my older cousins. While I'm princess, I'm looking forward to learning and seeing more things with Amiyah and I'm happy I get to experience this with her and I can't wait for this year’s powwow trail.

Mashpee Wampanoag Powwow Princess
Wunee keesuq (Good Day!) Nutus8ees Amiyah Peters (My name is Amiyah Peters). I am the daughter of Randolph Peters III and Crystal Hinson and the step-daughter of Kristine Foster and the late Glenn Tobey. I am a sibling to Keturah Peters, Chenoa Peters, Teyah Marandola, So’Layah Tobey, and Lesharo Tobey. I am the granddaughter of Nadine Costa and Randolph Peters Jr, Lynette Fennelly and Kurt Hinson, and the one and only Nana Jo.
I wanted to become the 2022-2023 Powwow Princess to not only represent my tribe, represent my family, become or continue to be a role model for future generations, but most importantly to make a difference and leave a mark in our community. During my reign, I look forward to meeting new people and working with other individuals to manage the difficulties that our tribal community continues to face every day.
