Mashpee Wampanoag Chief Silent Drum, a World War II veteran, will turn 100 years old on Thursday, June 16. To celebrate this milestone, tribal members and friends will parade to his home on Meetinghouse Road in Mashpee, where a group of traditional drummers will perform an honor song.
Legal Update: Court Grants Tribe Motion to Intervene
At a hearing yesterday (Wednesday, June 1), Judge Young ruled that the case brought forward by the Littlefields will remain in Massachusetts courts and rejected the effort to keep the case in his courtroom. A different yet-to-be-determined judge will hear the case. This is the second time the court has rejected the Littlefields’ efforts to keep the case in Judge Young’s courtroom.
Tribe Seeks Architect and Engineer for New Community Building
The intent of this request is to solicit a written Statement of Qualifications and Proposals, hereafter referred to as “Proposal”, from a qualified provider (company, firm, corporation, partnership, or persons), hereafter referred to as “Architect and Engineer” to provide all services necessary to fully design a community building in Mashpee, MA. To be eligible for consideration, the Architect and Engineer must be capable of supplying the services as noted herein, and must also meet all other criteria outlined in this Request for Proposals.
Covid Assistance Update
Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe COVID stimulus Checks will automatically be sent if you received assistance in 2020, we have had delays but should be able to complete the processing before the end of June. COVID Assistance applications are only required for those who were NOT sent assistance checks in 2020.
