The Election Committee will conduct a recount of the July 11 Special Election on Friday, July 16 at 6:00 PM. The recount will be conducted in the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Community and Government Center Gymnasium (483 Great Neck Road South, Mashpee).
Domingo "Mingo" Tiexeira and Nelson Andrews, Jr. Elected to Council
At the Tribe’s Special Election on July 11, Domingo "Mingo" Tiexeira and Nelson Andrews, Jr. were elected to council. Tiexeira and Andrews will fill the seats that were vacated when Brian Weeden and Carlton Hendricks were elected to Chair and Vice Chair earlier this year. 276 tribal members cast a ballot in the election.

On May 16 the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe made history electing Brian Weeden the youngest Chairman in the Tribe’s history. At 28 years old Brian has extensive experience working in tribal politics and operations on both the local and national level.
661 tribal members cast ballots in the election that brought in a new slate of officers for the Tribe. The full election results are listed below.
