The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe have joined a long list of organizations that have opposed the construction of the gun range on Joint Base Cape Cod. The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Council voted to officially oppose the gun range at a tribal council meeting on June 9.
Historic Election for Tribe: Brian Weeden Elected Chairman
On May 16 the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe made history electing Brian Weeden the youngest Chairman in the Tribe’s history. At 28 years old Brian has extensive experience working in tribal politics and operations on both the local and national level.

Volunteers Needed for May 16 Election
The Election Committee is seeking volunteers and monitors for the upcoming regular election scheduled for May 16, 2021. They anticipate needing an additional 15 volunteers. If interested, please email the Election Committee at Election.Committee@mwtribe-nsn.gov.
Housing Department Seeking Bids for Residential Rehab
The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Housing Department is seeking bids from qualified contractors for: Residential Rehabilitation located in Mashpee, MA. The pre-bid conference will be held Friday, April 9th 2021 at the resident’s site. Due to Covid-19, there will be two available meeting times, 9am and 11am. Please email trevor.carrington@mwtribe-nsn.gov or call (508)245-2497 to reserve a time. Information on this meeting is contained in the bid package. If you have already attended a previous pre-bid conference for the residence, you are not required to attend. The bid due date is scheduled for Friday, April 16th 2021. Bid packages may be requested and submitted by emailing trevor.carrington@mwtribe-nsn.gov. Bids received from qualified Native American contractors will be given preference per TERO.
Registration for Seequn/Spring Vacation Camp Opens April 1
Tribal students in grades pre-k through 4 may attend the Seequn/Spring Vacation Camp from April 20-23. Registration for the camp opens Thursday, April 1. The camp will be open to 24 students.
