The Election Committee is disappointed by the recent ruling by the Mashpee District Court. The Election Committee is striving to implement the decision of the Mashpee Tribal Council for the election in a safe and secure manner that ensures that all tribal members have the opportunity to vote in this election. Yesterday’s ruling only causes additional confusion in an already confusing situation. The Election Committee will be filing an appeal and it hopes that the Mashpee Supreme Court will correct the error of the District Court and ensure that all members are allowed to vote in a safe and secure manner. The Election Committee strongly encourages tribal members to not discard the ballots they have received in the mail. The Committee hopes the Mashpee Supreme Court will quickly bring clarity to this election.

As we now approach the one year mark of the Covid-19 emergency declaration, we wanted to provide some new guidelines, recently shared from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We have all had a very long and enduring year filled with many changes and challenges.

i am taking this time to write to you all as my term has ended and i leave the office of the Vice Chair. This has been a very trying time for our People as we have suffered illness from the pandemic and the loss of tribal citizens in the past year due to untimely deaths as well as those who have lived long, full lives. We grieve for those whom we Love and miss. These are our loved ones that cannot be replaced.

• Monday, February 22, 2021 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM

• Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 2 PM to 4:30 PM

• Wednesday, February 24, 2021 from 2 PM to 3:30 PM

MWT is Expanding Who Can Get Vaccinated for Covid-19

We are moving into Phase 3 of the MWT Vaccination program

IHS will now schedule:

• Young adults (ages 18 and over)

• Workers in occupations important to society functioning not included in Phase 1 or 2

• Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Spouses and household members

• Non-Mashpee Tribal members eligible for direct services
