New Website Update and Potential Down Time
The transition of the current website to the new platform is moving along on schedule with a site launch in early February. The new pages are currently being populated with all of the current content. However, there is a gap between the end of the current web host contract on the current website, which expired at year end, and the February launch date of the new site. What this means is that there may be a period of time in January where the old site is down.
If the old site is pulled down in January, there will be a “splash” page that is placed up to let everyone know our site is under construction and will be coming soon. If the site is pulled down, something that is at the discretion of the current website provider, the splash page will also provide general contact information. The Tribe realizes that this may be an inconvenience for some people in the community and will work hard to minimize this.
The largest issues may come from online forms in the housing, enrollment and TERO sections of the website. Please plan accordingly and if needed contact the departments directly if the site is in transition to complete any necessary forms.
Please know that the Tribe along with the tribal business volunteering its services to rebuild the website are working diligently to ensure we have a well functioning new site that we can all rely on. In the end, we will have a new site that better meets the needs of the community and the many different devices – tablets, phones and computers – that are used to access it.
It’s our goal to find more efficient, cost effective ways to do the important business in our government. This is one of the ways that we’re able to do that while keeping everyone better informed.
