The day the squirrel gave thanks to the Crow

One sunny day in April, a couple of years ago, I was in my house, when I heard the crow frantically calling out a distress call, Caw,caw, caw, went the crow, so I went outside to see what was going on,

Then I heard, a squirrel in its nest above chirping loud, as if to be calling out for help,

Then Suddenly swoosh, whoosh, a hawk diving towards the squirrel nest, hoping to get a mid morning snack, after many fierce, failed, repeated Attempts, with the crow in fast pursuit like a guided missile, nipping at the hawks plume, and as the squirrel narrowly avoiding each pass of the hawks talons.

whoosh, swoosh, as the hawk flew letting out a deafening screech, annoyed by the fierce

Pursuit of the crow, they both twisted and turned ,through the trees with precise flight As if to be attached .

As the Crow chased off the hawk, a calmness came to the sky, with the haunt of danger gone.

The crow perched itself, On the edge of the squirrels nest as it stood look out, Making sure the hawk was nowhere in sight, and didn't return.

As the crow pierced the sky with a watchful eye, the squirrel quietly and cautiously, exited its nest scurrying down the back of the tree.

Only to take refuge under the nearby forsythia bush, The squirrel looked up at the crow and chirped, thnku my brother For saving my life. The story of your good deed will be told through the tree tops and on the ground , we will provide de shelled acorns for you and your family, to fill your bellies for years to come. After hearing the squirrels words, the crow took flight in an Easterly direction heading towards John's pond, with the crows caw faintly in the wind, and out of sight .the squirrel finally went back to the tree tops and told his family high and low.

The story of the great crow, the crows would never go hungry again especially in the winter months.

So is the story of the Squirrel and the Crow.
